Measure & Install

Five minutes, a tape measure, and you're done. Our designers double-check every order before cutting.

Measure your width

Measure the full window width. Add 8–12 inches per side for a generous, gathered look.

Measure your length

Decide on sill, floor, or puddle length. Measure from the top of the rod to where you want the curtain to fall.

Length recommendations

Sill

Hits the windowsill. Casual, café-style.

Floor

Hovers ½ inch above the floor. Tailored.

Puddle

Pools 2–4 inches on the floor. Romantic.

Step 3

Determine the finished width & length

Pleated heading — full reference diagram and the rules our workroom uses on every order.

Curtain measurement diagram: per pair width, per panel width, stacked width, side tuck, fabric fullness 200%
  • Single panel width when pleats are sewn (measured from the top fully extended) = your ordered width.
  • Example: rod length 100" → order 2 panels of 50" each in pinch-pleat style.
  • Drapery panel width is measured end-pleat to end-pleat when fully extended, not stacked.
  • Length is measured from the curtain hook's eyelet ring.
  • Default fabric fullness: 200% (2× built-in).
  • Stacked width accounts for around 20% of the panel width you order.
  • Side tuck: 2 inches per side.
  • Pleats are sewn permanently.

Step 1 · Heading Style

Which drapery heading would you like?

Soft Top

No header pleat at the top. Works with our 4-in-1 design — hook-belt, flat hook, tab top, tie top, rod pocket, and back tab. Width must account for fabric fullness.

Pleated or Wave Fold

A crisp, modern silhouette. Choose pinch pleat, three-finger pinch, tailored pleat, triple tailored pleat, goblet pleat, inverted box pleat, or wave fold.

Grommet

A structured, contemporary look with metal eyelets sliding directly on the rod.

Wave Fold

2× built-in fullness

Default fullness is 2 (or 200%). We use 200% of the fabric width to form even wave folds and reach the finished width you ordered — no extra fabric required to add fullness.

HUAJING DECORATIVE offers two wave-fold systems:

  • Snap-hook track: a series of small hooks that clip into a webbing tape sewn onto the curtain.
  • Tape-band track: uses a continuous fabric tape sewn at the curtain top.

Hardware mounting

  1. 01

Mount your rod 4–6 inches above the window frame to make the window appear taller.

  2. 02

Extend the rod 8–12 inches past each side of the frame so curtains stack off the glass.

  3. 03

Use wall anchors rated for the weight of your drapery (especially for velvet and lined linen).

  4. 04

Pre-iron and hang panels immediately to allow folds to relax naturally over 48 hours.
